Sadly, there isn't a "none of the above" or "un-vote-for" option in elections. Because there's hardly anyone worth having running for office. Anywhere.
So I'm taking a swipe at Obama's campaign slogan from 2008.
Back in the day, the Europeans did have a rather efficient way of dealing with leaders who let them down or screwed them over en masse. They called it the Guillotine. It wasn't what we'd call a "democracy" but, you know, that kind of zero-tolerance for betraying the public trust sure could be a motivating force.
And, to the NSA/DHS/FBI people who no doubt monitor dA (because as Hitler and Stalin taught, artists and intellectuals are dangerous, right?) - I am in no way advocating the systematic beheadings of our beloved elected officials. That would be wrong. This is a symbolic political commentary, not a call to action. M'kay?
